Facebook is pushing up the ante on what’s required to get your profile in the news, and you should do your part too.
The social media giant is rolling out a new feature that allows you to push your profile to the front page of your news feed with a click of a button.
Facebook’s new push-to-the-front feature will allow users to see news and information from your friends or family and their Facebook pages, without ever actually logging in to Facebook.
When users open the new feature, it will show a newsfeed that appears as if it was created by a human who has been manually clicking the “View News” button.
This feature is meant to allow people to see what news they are following and to get a sense of who they are talking to and sharing with, so they can make better decisions about what to share with them, according to Facebook’s Facebook Engineering Manager Paul J. LeCun.
In addition to letting you see news from friends, family and other Facebook users, Facebook also lets you push your news to the top of your feed.
This allows you, for example, to see a news story about a terrorist attack in your neighborhood or an upcoming concert or movie.
The push-top feature is designed to make it easier for users to get information from Facebook’s various news sources, according the company.
“We are building an entire platform around social and news, but we’re also building a platform that lets people make their own decisions about how to share content on Facebook,” LeConun said.
According to Facebook, this new feature will roll out to users in the coming weeks.
